Black Tie & Blue Jeans Chili Cook-off to Benefit Drivers Education
You are invited to help us raise the roof and funds at The SELF Movement’s first annual Black Tie & Blue Jeans Chili Cook-off and Fundraiser.
Your ticket purchase will support the Duval County Public Schools’ Drivers Education Program by providing students with textbooks containing the most current information on proper vehicle operation and training on the Dangers of Distracted Driving (ie texting and driving)!
Be Part of the Solution and Have Fun, too!
Purchase your ticket for $30, and then enjoy the party and cook-off, during which you can help judge the best creations of local Jacksonville chili enthusiasts. You will drive home afterwards knowing your participation contributed to making Jacksonville a safer place to live and play!
Your ticket purchase will count as a donation that brings awareness to distracted and impaired driving and help replace outdated driving books with the latest in educational texts, videos, and multimedia. Click the Buy a Ticket button to purchase online with PayPal. Be sure to print your receipt and bring it with you for admittance. The SELF Movement has no paid staff and 100% of your donation will be used to purchase new education materials in DCPS.
What’s in it for YOU…
Car crashes are the number one cause of death for teens 16-19 years of age¹. Today you can join the 156 Duval County Public High School (DCPS) students that stood-up, spoke up and made a difference through PSA videos to raise awareness about distracted and impaired driving during our 2012 Teen Safe Driving Campaign! The 2012 videos including those of the winning students who recently received scholarship money at our O.S.C.A.R.S awards ceremony can be viewed on our Teen Safe Driving Video Contest page. You will be inspired by the creativity and commitment of Jacksonville’s youth to embrace and spread the message about the dangers of distracted driving!
Our shared vision is to raise $15,000 to purchase current resource materials and add student-created videos to the public Driver’s Education Department of DCPS in Jacksonville, Florida.
